The Thrill returns—now with extra added Catholic flavor!

Looking at the gorgeous cover of the newly rewritten, "Catholicized" edition of my first book, The Thrill of the Chaste: Finding Fulfillment While Keeping Your Clothes On, what can I say but that I am, well, thrilled. (And keeping my clothes on.)

As I announced last week on Twitter, the book, now titled The Thrill of the Chaste (Catholic Edition), which hits stores January 26, is available for pre-order on my publisher's website. You can also preview its table of contents and enjoy a lengthy excerpt. (The book's Amazon page is currently under construction; I will post a link when it is ready. If you search hard, you can find a dummy page for it, but the page's content—the marketing copy and user reviews—relates only to the original edition.)

If you know the original Thrill, you will notice many differences in the Catholic edition. Since entering the Catholic Church, I have learned about how the life of the sacraments and lessons of the saints can make chastity more joyful. But the biggest change is that this new Thrill is no longer for women only. I expanded The Thrill's perspective because so many male readers of the original edition told me they wished a book like it had been written for them.

It didn't take much to de-girl-ify the book. Mostly I just had to remove the references to "Sex and the City," which I was eager to do anyway, as they dated the book. (Not every exclusively feminine angle was jettisoned; I did leave in the reference to "the iniquity of my heels.")
